1 January 2025 marks the first day of my being one or all of the following: emeritus professor, professor emeritus or professor emerita (a feminine version). I am now in a two year ‘phased post-retirement’ state in which I am retired as a professor, have been re-hired as Academic Teaching Staff, and have a half workload. Hypothetically – we shall see if I can handle that!

Proctor Lab - where we put biodiversity under the microscope 
Dear Colleague, wellcome to our club of “professor emeritus” I’m a member from 2000 so still I have 25 years “retired” but but not at home, in my lab with my students this’s a beautifull world, impossible to leave. I think still we need your knowledge

Thanks Ricardo, and sorry it took me so long to reply! I am also still in the lab with my remaining graduate students, and am looking forward to having more time to spend at the microscope admiring mites.
