Lindsey worked with Heather Proctor and Dr. David Schindler to test the value of iron addition as a remediation strategy for eutrophic water bodies in Alberta. The use of iron to reduce problems caused by excessive nutrients has not been widely studied and its pros and cons as a management technique need to be evaluated. Her mesocosm-based research focused on the effect of iron treatment on aquatic invertebrates, including zooplankton, macroinvertebrates and emerging insects.
