Born and raised in Los Angeles, Bennett received undergraduate degrees in Entomology and Microbiology at University of Nebraska – Lincoln in 2022. He previously worked as a specimen curator in the Nebraska State Museum, identifying weird flies and beetles from around the world. At the University of Alberta, he is doing an M.Sc. degree in the Proctor Lab on the taxonomy and ecology of carrion beetles and their associated phoretic mites.
