My M.Sc. was at the University of British Columbia in the Jankowski lab, where I studied the cophylogenetic relationship between Myrsidea chewing lice and their Peruvian Mionectes flycatcher hosts. I also explored the relationship between the presence of lice with host morphometrics and demographics. For my Ph.D. I will attempt to build a phylogeny for Peruvian feather mites across multiple host genera and further explore the cophylogenetic relationship between ectosymbionts and their hosts. I will also study how symbiont interactions and host life history traits could influence symbiont assemblage structure and possible outcomes for  host fitness.
